The farm
The museum is centred on a farmhouse that dates from 1612
The Vogtsbauernhof farmhouse of 1612 was built on this site. Other buildings from the Black Forest have been dismantled, transported to the museum and reassembled. It lies between Hausach and Gutach.
Six farmhouses
Six furnished farmhouses come from heights of 260 to 1,100 metres
The Hippenseppenhof of 1599 holds exhibitions on clocks and traditional costumes. The Lorenzenhof of 1608 has forestry and glassblowing, and the Schauinslandhaus of 1730 has woodworking craft.
Outbuildings
A mill, a sawmill, a chapel and a granny house stand among the farms
Among the outbuildings are a mill from 1609, a sawmill from 1673, a chapel from 1736 and a granny house from 1652. The grounds have farm animals and a herb garden with over 130 medicinal herbs.
